Finally, here are the pictures from our New York trip. Phil and I took a wonderful trip with my family to New York City. What took us back to New York again, was the last Yankees game in their old stadium. Well, I guess that part was for the boys and shopping was for the girls. We had a blast!!! It's always fun being with family in a fun city like New York. No, Carson didn't go with us. He stayed back here with his aunt Mal. She couldn't go because of nursing school. Here are some pictures of our highlights.
We took a ferry to Staton Island. The weather was so beautiful and the view was great! It is the best way to see the Statue of Liberty! I still get chill bumps seeing it! Here are some pictures of our ferry ride!
A night out on the town!
Here are some pictures of our touring!
The building behind them is the New York Stock Exchange.
Our journey that night lead us to a wonderful hidden gem in Little Italy. The restraunt was called Puglia's. They were all locals and were having a wonderful time. There was the old man that has been singing there for like 20 years. He sings this song called "shake your napkin" that the locals love. Evedently you can buy it on itunes. His name is Jorge Binucci. Anyway, we had so much fun. Here we are enjoying pizza and songs.
Here we are in Time Square. Just beautiful at night!
We also went to Central Park that night. It is such a peaceful place inside such a busy city.
On the subway.
We went down to Ground Zero again. There is still a large hole in the ground. They are working on the base for the towers going up. In all the times we have been down there we had never gone to the fire station right across the street from there. We just happened to walk down that street and find it. It was the first fire station to respond to the blast and each one of the crew members died that day. They have an awsome memorial and amazing momentos at the station. it is still in operation. So wonderful to see. Here are two pictures of the memorial wall.
Yankees Game
Ok, here is where Phil is going to take over and give the details. I know most of you girls will stop looking at this point and I understand. Your husbands might be more interested in the photos below. But, I did enjoy looking at them and hearing about it.
Picture of "right field porch" where Babe Ruth use to hit the ball.
While at the game, Andy Pettitte reached 2,000 strikeouts for his carrer!
Last pitch of the game in old Yankee stadium.
Security was really tight. Here is a picture of some of the horses and police officers on the field after the game.
